The question comes from a college student saddled with a lackluster meal plan. Unsurprisingly, it isn#8217;t Primal in the slightest. Worst of all, it#8217;s obligatory, meaning she has no choice but to pay for all this food she doesn#8217;t want to eat. Since I find this pretty appalling, I tried to help the student with a letter to the director of food service explaining what changes can and should be made to make the meal plan healthier. The changes I propose aren#8217;t going to catch any of you off guard, but I tried to make them as palatable for someone who isn#8217;t steeped in this stuff as I could./p
pOkay, enough blathering. Let#8217;s just get to the question:/p

”Triple your money in 7 days!”

I bet that headline caused alarm bells to go off in your head.
We intuitively seem to ‘get’ money. We understand how much we make at work. We understand that some people are rich, and some people are broke, and we understand that just because someone won the lottery this week, doesn’t mean next week is our turn.
Weight loss…not so much
The claim “Triple your money in 7 days!” will set off a skeptical alarm bell in most people, however the equally unlikely claim “Lose 15 pounds in 7 days!” doesn’t always set off the same skeptical alarm bell.
In fact, it does the opposite. It gets our hopes up, makes us curious and, more often than not, it makes us buy something (diet pills, diet books, diet drinks).
The trick is that both claims are stating something that it IS possible…but very unlikely. We’ve all seen someone […]

pPlease take a few moments to read the following important message./p
pYou may have noticed that Mark#8217;s Daily Apple and PrimalBlueprint.com have been under construction the past couple days. This is the result of both websites having been victims of a cyber attack. Since the attack, my technical support staff has isolated and eliminated all security risks./p
pspan id=”more-26803″/span/p
pIt appears that an individual gained unauthorized and illegal access to our website server, injecting malware on both sites, which potentially could have infected your computer. If at any time you clicked on a #8220;Missing Plugin#8221; link or downloaded a #8220;Java Plugin#8221; while visiting either site it is possible your computer was infected. The malware seems to particularly target PC computers instead of Macs./p
pNumerous actions have been taken to prevent unauthorized access to our server and to protect your browsing experience. As added security precautions, my team highly suggests the following:/p

Inevitably, however, the day will come when you’ll be staring at a plate of steamed broccoli and butter thinking, there’s got to be more ways to dress up sulfur-rich veggies./p
pAnd you’re right – there are. When you’re feeling more ambitious, steam your favorite sulfur-rich veggies as usual, then turn them into a one-bowl meal by smothering or lightly covering them in […]

pI was always super skinny as a teenager, and I ate rubbish everyday with no thought to my health or weight. I hated exercise and avoided it like the plague. I would do anything to get out of PE each week. My poor PE teacher, Mr. Jackson #8211; I was on my period every week for two years! Anything to get out of cricket or touch […]

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) describes any workout that alternates between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less-intense activity or even complete rest. For example, a good starter workout is running as fast as you can for 1 minute and then walking for 2 minutes. Repeat that 3-minute interval five times for a 15-minute, fat-blasting workout. It sounds too simple to be effective, but science doesn’t stretch the truth.

It may be a 25¢ word, but it’s a concept with which we’re all familiar. Essentially, it’s acting against one’s own best interest. We’re not talking here about the noble, altruistic deeds that purposefully put others’ needs before our own. Akrasia encompasses that irrational, confounding state of mind in which we wittingly throw caution, reason, and consequences to the wind in order to pursue a choice we understand will be bad for us. In other words, we know better. In fact, we know pretty much exactly what repercussions will befall us. That chocolate donut in our hand, for example, will undoubtedly cause our IBS to flare up #8211; or have us bemoaning the paunch look later. Staying up late to watch one more episode of Breaking Bad will leave us comatose in tomorrow’s big meeting. Skipping […]
