Pin It (NaturalNews) The human body was designed for movement, and even in a sick society most people recognize the importance of exercise. Sadly, many people never get further than that realization. Too many Americans don’t exercise at all, because they think it takes too much time or is too hard. After seeing too many people give up on their exercise plans after a few short months, many doctors are recommending an exercise routine from Japan called “Tabata.” This method of exercise can be as short as four minutes per session and research has proven it to be very effective for people of all fitness levels.HistoryThe Tabata technique is named after Dr. Izumi Tabata, a physiologist from Japan

What is HIIT?HIIT stands for high intensity interval training. HIIT is a method of working out in which you alternate low intensity moderate training for higher intensity training. High intensity training usually has less rest in between sets, and you are often working at very intense levels, whether is lifting more weight than you’re usually accustomed to, or sprinting harder than you would normally.

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is still a relatively new phenomenon in the fitness world, some people claim it is the quickest and most efficient way to lose fat fast, while others still prefer going for a light jog or a walk. What Is HIIT HIIT stands for high intensity interval training, which means you perform a high intensity interval (+80% max heart rate) followed by a low intensity interval. The most common HIIT technique is a 30 second sprint followed by a 1 minute walk. The intervals are usually repeated for 10-15 minutes. A light warm up is recommended due to the increased chance of injury associated with high intensity activity, a 5-10 minute warm down is also recommended.

Fad diets are nothing new, but with the breakout success of the 5:2 diet, also called the fast diet, weight-loss hopefuls around the globe are turning to an unusual way of eating. Under the program’s guidelines, dieters eat normally for five days of the week and then limit themselves to just 500 calories for women, or 600 calories for men, on the other two days. The plan is based on a concept called intermittent fasting, and supporters report dramatic weight-loss results. But does this diet really work? The EvidenceThe fast-diet trend originated in the UK, and according to that country’s National Health Services website, research on fat-loss benefits is lacking. The NHS reports that in one study of 30 obese women, participants did lose weight when fasting one day a week.

When you build a circuit training routine, don’t forget: There are lot’s of metabolically demanding kettle- bell exercises to spice things up. There are probably a dozen of reasons why people train. Many of them are really good: Wanting to stay healthy, to live longer, or to excel in your sports. Of others, however, I am not so sure whether they are actually worth pursuing, or do you think training to look like a walking stick to make it to the catwalk was a “good” motivation to go to the gym? Personally I don’t think so and that’s partly why I am hesitant to judge a workout by the amount of energy it may burn.
