This is bhasski here. I just saw that you met some Doc in Mumbai. I have been in Mumbai for 2.5 years for job and seen 2 private doctors for 2 years and they couldn’t help One changed the meds or better increase it. Other charged a huge sum for listening and more talking.
Its been terrible and had to left my job as I was not able to cope up with anything. However, you are right that we dwell in past.
Currently I have severe brain fog, pssd, lack of confidence and of course, my past looms over me. I cannot sleep at night, though when severly tired, I sleep in day. Overall all wake time is fatigued. I cannot laugh and get involved in conversations and left my meds about 30 days back.
I know that almost all of us are into this or gone through it, but is there anyway to get your real personality back?

What upset me the most working in the hospital was seeing what is in the commercially prepared tube feed and the bottled liquid meals like Boost. SUGAR, SUGAR, and more SUGAR plus some soy protein and soybean oil. This is the worst thing you can feed a person who just lost their mandible or their esophagus to cancer. Diabetics would see their blood sugar go out of control. People sensitive to soybeans would have terrible diarrhea.
If you know anyone who has to receive nutrition through a feeding tube, or be on a liquid diet – please look into how to prepare healthy foods with real, whole foods so they are liquid and safe to put through a feeding tube.
These preparations are made by Nestle and are downright criminal in my opinion.

Ummm… No. They ate them because they were at hand. You make it sound like knew the science of nutrition.
For the most part Paleolithic man was nomadic/semi-nomadic and if he was hungry, he ate what was easily available in the area that he was inhabiting. If he needed a mass of calories and veggies were not enough to satisfy that craving then he used calories to hunt. No way did he know anything about the nutrients in food beyond SIMPLE cravings.

Jana, I wish you the best of luck in your recovery. Be aware that this is a very extensive operation and you will not get out of the hospital for 5-7 days at the earliest. Because they have to open up your chest cavity to get to your esophagus, you will have chest tubes placed. You will be on all intravenous fluids and medications until your esophagus heals up a bit. Not even a sip of water for you! No going home in a day or two! Some patients are in the hospital up to 10 days depending on how things go. Not to scare you, but so you can plan for your husband to have the care he needs while you are in the hospital.
Before you go in, I would recommend getting a really good blender so you can prepare healthy, low sugar liquefied meals. Really, really stay away from the sugar.

Next month, my mom will turn 67 years old. She can run a mile in under six-and-a-half minutes, a 5K in 22 minutes, and she recently ran a half-marathon with her other daughter, 20 years her junior, in a time of 1:46. Her times put her in the top 10 percent of her age group, which classifies her as a World-Class runner.
Her diet is a part of her training program. For longer races, even the 10K, every ounce counts, but she also likes to enjoy life. Here’s why she eats the same thing for lunch every day, as told to her daughter (me).
