Slow cookers are at the top of our kitchen appliance must-have list. Incredibly versatile, they allow you to make amazing meals without a lot of hands-on time. They’re perfect for hearty wintery stews, and they’re also surprisingly handy for cooking in the summer when just the idea of turning on the oven makes you sweat. In short, they’re everything we want in a small kitchen appliance — or very nearly.

The only real downside is that traditionally, slow cookers aren’t very attractive. But we’ve found one that we’d happily take from the kitchen to the table. Ready for the reveal?

I did a drill once, supposedly inspired by Navy SEAL training, where the instructor wanted us to practice quickly assessing our surroundings. He put us in the middle of a room, had us close our eyes, and then quietly put quarters at various places around the room. We were to open our eyes and quickly locate and count the quarters.

  1. To improve your health
