Finding people to shape and guide you is the difference between enormous success and years of mistakes.

I’ve been in the strength game in one form or another for more than thirty years, both as an athlete and a coach. As I take inventory of my successes in each, I quickly realize how nothing is done well without help. We all would like to take credit for the great choices we’ve made. But if we are honest with ourselves, our road to success was paved by the brilliant people who took us under their wings early on.

If we’re not careful, the skill of developing well-crafted speed, agility, and change of direction programmes is going to become a lost art.

Social media seems to be awash with thirty second video clips of athletes (I use the term loosely; normally the guy behind the video camera’s pal) and their coaches (again, I use the term loosely; cheerleaders may be more apt) performing random speed and agility “drills”. “Tricks” is probably a better description. As soon as the video is uploaded, their social media feed blows up with likes, thumbs up emojis, and comments like: “Sick skillz bruv, wish u woz my coach, respect”.

Staying healthy and fit while pregnant can have a profound effect on the health and athletic potential of your baby.

Every year there in the United States, there are approximately 4 million births. The NCAA will tell you that out of that 4 million, most all of them will be going pro in something other than sports. Your child will need to have huge amounts of both talent and luck to make it into the big leagues.
