I recently had a pretty bad Caesar salad experience at a fast-causal restaurant: The salad arrived in a plastic clamshell (the rest of our dinner did not) with romaine pieces so large I could not even get my mouth around them, exactly four croutons, and the tiniest packet of Caesar dressing. In hindsight, I knew better than to order that particular salad — telltale signs of salad sadness were everywhere. If only I’d had this handy list available instead to guide me toward Caesar salad nirvana and away from disappointment. Keep these in mind and learn from my mistake.

This is timely and important information. Interestingly our digestive track is similar to the gorilla who are herbivores, but our micro-nutrient needs are decidedly omnivore, which makes sense because the more diversity in the diet the easier it is to find and utilize food. I already have high triglycerides/high cholesterol. While I understand that Coconut oil is suppose to be healthy and good for you, it can elevate cholesterol levels, although it’s probably slight. Considering I already have this condition, I’m wondering if it’s still safe to consume Coconut oil, although small amounts would probably be okay. I won’t bother to ask my family physician because he advises me to go on Statins, which I can absolutely not tolerate, nor will I ever take them because of the awful side effects.

The 2016 harvest of New Mexico Hatch green chiles is right around the corner, and if there was ever a time to be excited about a new arrival at the farmers market, this is it. But what is it that makes hatch green chiles so great? Here’s why the Chile Guys think it’s time for you to get excited about green chiles.

We get excited about a lot of fresh summer produce, but if there was just one single item to get really excited for, it’s Hatch green chiles. They’re starting to arrive right now and will continue into October, but don’t wait too long to pick some up because they’re only in season for a short time. We’re making the most of them while we can — starting with breakfast.
