It may seem like a no-brainer to buy a seedless watermelon instead of a seeded one — those hard black seeds are annoying to spit out, so it makes sense to avoid them completely and go with the seedless variety — however, it’s argued that seeded watermelon actually have more flavor than seedless. Is that true? And if so, why is it that the case?

General Mills announced that they’re adding a brand new Cheerios flavor to their roster this year: pumpkin spice. This new addition could hit shelves as soon as this month. It was news to me that Cheerios had any flavors outside of “Original,” “Honey Nut,” and “Multigrain,” but in fact, there are currently 14 different boxes to choose from. Did you have any idea? What did you grow up eating? Do you still eat cereal at all?
Well, it turns out your favorite Cheerios flavor can say a lot about you as a person. There’s a difference between the people who gravitate towards “Original” versus “Frosted,” so what camp do you fall into? Choose your favorite box and we’ll tell you what that says about you and your personality. Yes, Pumpkin Spice is an option.

I’d be the first to tell you that nothing beats homemade croutons. But even though they’re quick and easy to make, there are times when they’re still not fast enough. That’s when store-bought croutons come to the rescue. There are a whole slew of bagged options out there — we tasted our way through them to find the best.

Explain to me Tamara, how it is that just three volcanoes since (but including) Krakatoa have put more particulate matter and “greenhouse” gases into the atmosphere than man has done since he discovered fire. I am not including the thousands of volcanoes that have gone off and continue to do so today, but add that to the mix and the result is even more against you. Yet you and all other “global warmists” continue to claim that man is the culprit. And I guess that the scientific evidence that the Earth cycles through warm and cold periods since creation doesn’t matter when you are clamoring for dollars to combat this “menace”. I read articles like this that do not counterbalance the assertions they make and am disgusted. You need to go sit in the corner with your pointy hat and long nose with Al Gore and contemplate your navel. That would be a better utilization of your time.

Caesar dressing, whether store-bought or homemade, is a glorious thing. Its garlic, cheese, and anchovy-packed flavor with its rich and creamy texture is the key to one of the best classic salads around. But if it’s so good, why limit it to only salad? In fact, why not use it to make 10 other dishes infinitely better? We were asking ourselves the very same question, so we answered it.

Some of our favorite foods are white, or whitish — bread, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, vanilla ice cream, to name a few — but if you limit yourself to pigment-free foods, you miss out on both the huge diversity of foods and also important nutrients. That’s because color (so long as it’s not artificial) is basically a shorthand for nutrients.

Popsicles! Of course Popsicles! It’s summer, for Pete’s sake. But as an adult with no wee ones underfoot, I often forget about Popsicles, and I’m a sadder person for it. It’s easy enough to throw a box into the cart next time I’m at the grocery store, but that’s just pushing the obvious even further. Best to make my own before summer’s over and it’s too late. Where to begin?
