Here are seven essentials to have on hand.

I personally love CrossFit. I am certified as a Level 1 trainer in CrossFit, I love to participate in the sport, and most of all I love watching the competitions.

But as a Posture Alignment Specialist, I have noticed some trends over the years that plague almost all CrossFit athletes. The two main posture problems that I see in CrossFit athletes today are:

Have you ever picked up what you thought was a hand of ginger to find yourself with something that looked quite similar, but tasted nothing like what you’re expecting? Chances are you picked up galangal — an honest mistake, since these two members of the rhizome family look ridiculously similar. So what really is galangal and how does it compare to ginger?

Few things look as good in a kitchen as IKEA cabinets. The accent wall in this Portland, Oregon, space happens to be one of them. Of course, all the cabinets — and the wall oven — are from IKEA, but can you guess where that cool accent wall came from?

Perhaps you’ve enjoyed chicken or lamb korma at your favorite Indian restaurant, or you’ve made it yourself, but korma can be much more than these meat-heavy versions. In fact, swapping in chickpeas makes a korma everyone can get behind.

This month, we’re delighted to share four essays from The Artists’ and Writers’ Cookbook about the power of a simple bowl of soup. Playwright Sheila Callaghan continues our series today with a story about good intentions gone dreadfully wrong.

I was a vegan for a very short time in my adult life, and the hardest part for me was going out to eat with friends. While it was a little easier in New York, I found that when I went to visit my family in Minnesota it was difficult to find options when we went out for dinner. I imagine it’s a similar situation for vegetarians depending on where you live. Where do us veggie-lovers have to live in order to get a great meal at a restaurant?

Priceonomics recently went out to find the most (and least) vegetarian-friendly cities in the country. They looked at a couple things, including the cities with the most vegetarian- and vegan-friendly restaurants, and the cities with the most vegetarian- and vegan-friendly restaurants per capita.

Want to see how your city stacks up?
