You probably think you know what I’m going to say here, don’t you? (Hint: Don’t be fooled by the photo above!) You think the answer is a paper bag. And that’s not a far-off guess, but it’s not correct. (I told you not to be fooled by the photo!)
Paper bags are really great for making microwave popcorn, but if you make popcorn as much as we do in my house, all those paper bags are going to get pretty wasteful. Even if you reuse them a few times!

A Martini is one of the most iconic and classic cocktails around. It’s also one that not a lot of people agree on when it comes to making it the best way. Gin or vodka? Stirred or shaken? Ice shards or double strained? Lemon twist or olives? Blue cheese stuffed? Dirty?
Point being, how you like your Martini is probably different than how your aunt likes hers. Despite this, you and your aunt can both agree that crafting a great Martini at home can make you feel as classy and sophisticated as they come!
Because there are so many options, it’s always good to start with the tried-and-true classic recipe for a Martini before you get to customizing your own. As we dive into the recipe, let’s take a look at how such an elegant two-ingredient cocktail can have so many people divided.

There are few things that can impress a dinner party crowd quite like serving steak. If you can boil water, you can serve pasta. If you’re spending a lot of money on your guests, you can boil lobsters. But for the combination of an indulgent, generous dinner party that takes a little bit more skill in the kitchen? Steak is the one item that consistently wows.
However, I think we can all agree that serving it can feel more than a little bit daunting. There are so many variables: Will I get the right cut? Will it be tender enough? Will I cook it to the perfect doneness? Will there be enough? Will people wish we’d just ordered pizza?
These nine tips will ensure everyone is stuffed and happy by the end of the night. And isn’t that all that really matters?

Valentine’s Day isn’t always about couples. Sometimes your best pals are the ones you want to be with on February 14 for fun, laughter, sparkly drinks, and, of course, lots of sweets. You can keep it simple and low-key with a chocolate sheet cake, fancy it up with riesling rhubarb crisp cake, or make fun favors with little bags of raspberry-coconut French macarons. However you do it, celebrate friendship this Valentine’s Day!

We’ve posted about what to stream on Netflix before (and before that), but, like the tides, the streaming selection is ever-changing, which means we’ve got a whole new batch of mouthwatering recs.
Someday, spring will come, and we can all leave the house again. Until then, here are 10 things to watch to eat up your time. Admittedly, this batch is mostly docs, but if you’ve got a craving for features, our previous lists have got you covered.
(Also, Babette’s Feast is still not on Netflix. I know. I’m sorry.)

Breakups are the worst. One day you’re talking to someone all the time, and the next day you’re greeted with empty space. Too much space. I mean, what are you supposed to do with all that space? Eventually, after allowing time to pass and remembering to be kind to yourself, you will feel better and that space will be filled with other things — and maybe someone else.
In the meantime? There’s food. Food that will make you feel comforted, food that will make you feel nourished, and food that is just damn good. Food will take up some of that empty space. These are the recipes to eat after a breakup (and why).
