It’s really hard to improve on prosciutto (preferably with some good cheese and bread, on a picnic blanket in a park somewhere). The Italian cured meat is one of my favorites and I’ll take any excuse to pick up a little from the store. But while it’s hard denying the pleasure of eating it as is, I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy it. I’ve tried (and highly recommend) crisping it to toss with pasta, but just recently I took this salty pork to a whole new level of deliciousness — by candying it.

You know that you can go play with one of those fun scanner guns (or your phone, because it’s 2017!) at the usual registry-friendly shops like Macy’s and Bed, Bath & Beyond. But did you know that more and more retailers are launching their very own registry services? They are!
These stores and sites often offer completion discounts (so that after your wedding you can buy anything you really wanted but didn’t get), extra-long return windows (in case you decide you really don’t need that chaffing dish after all), gift trackers (to ensure that you don’t forget to send the proper thank you cards), and free little bonus gifts just because!
Here’s a list of some surprising places you can turn to when it comes to building your wedding registry.
Note: There are also plenty of sites (like Zola and SimpleRegistry) that allow you to add products from any store to one comprehensive registry, so that’s an option too. Plus, there are all sorts of sites that let you register for your honeymoon, a downpayment on a house, or even charitable donations.

Let me walk you through the experience of eating a fresh gougère. It’s surprisingly light as you pick it up — almost insubstantial — and still hot from the oven. The crispy shell crunches as you pull it open, releasing a puff of savory steam. Then you hit the middle: soft, eggy, and indecently cheesy. Two bites and it’s gone. You’re going to want to make a batch of these soon — trust me.

When I was growing up, I wanted nothing more than to bring a big bowl of buttery popcorn and glass of chocolate milk upstairs to my room. But there was just no way that would ever fly with my mom. She had no real issue with what I wanted to eat — it was where I wanted to eat it.

My family loves ice cream cake, so when dreaming up ways to use our one-bowl vanilla cake, an ice cream dream cake was a must. This one combines soft vanilla cake with tart raspberry sorbet and is topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream. This ice cream cake is the perfect end to a backyard barbecue or a spring or summer brunch.
