Cancer has proven to be a crafty foe, but scientists are beginning to find ways to outwit this deadly adversary. For roughly 100 years, surgery and chemotherapy have been the primary ways that modern medicine has tried to eradicate malignant tumors. Undoubtedly, these techniques have saved lives and will continue to do so for the […]

Certain types of teas can provide some real relief to mild headaches all the way through to migraines. Of course, the best thing you can do for a headache is to work out the cause of it and remove that, if you can. And migraine sufferers, like myself, know that sometimes you just have to […]

It’s 1-rep max testing day, the day of the big race, or any other day when the time comes to test and measure your progress. But yet, you don’t hit that coveted PR, beat your best time, or cross a threshold that you’ve been focused on the last phase of your training. Worse yet, perhaps you did push your best forward but not as far forward as you anticipated. In either scenario, you leave disappointed and disheartened. You question what you did wrong, whether all that work was worth it, or if you’ll ever improve.

Chili is a problem-solver in my kitchen. When I’m not sure what to make, or when I want a meal that makes a bunch of leftovers so I don’t have to cook for a few days, chili is always the answer. I love how customizable chili can be. If I’m feeling a little bit blah, for example, I usually make a simple base — lots of beans, crushed tomatoes, vegetables, and ground beef. Then I top it with all of the things that can fit in the bowl, like shredded cheese, green onions, sour cream, avocado, or whatever else sounds good at the time.

If you’re looking for something a little more exciting to add to your dinner rotation, then you need to check out the most popular chili recipe on Pinterest. It was saved 225,000 times on the platform last year alone.

A baker at heart, I never save a cookie or muffin baking session for the weekends; I’m happy to make a batch in the middle of the week for breakfast or dinner, but I understand that most people don’t feel the same way. A baking and pastry degree and years of real-life experience have taught me how to bake on a weeknight with whatever time and resources I have, and this is wisdom I love to share.

These three rules make weeknight baking easy, fast, and fun so that you don’t have to wait until Saturday to break out the butter, sugar, and flour.

Having just moved from New York City to the Charlotte, North Carolina, it’s still boggling my mind that the trees are already flowering and the birds are chirping. Spring actually is on the horizon! We’ve been gifted with a handful of balmy days already and, to me, that means none other than the arrival of rosé weather.

A recent craving came perfectly timed with my discovery of a quirky bottle called Yes Way Rosé. (It officially launches today at Target for $12.99!) At first glance, it had the potential to be my new go-to rosé all through the spring and summer months. I obviously had to try it to be sure (for the sake of research, of course) — here’s what I thought.

I have this rule, and maybe you do too: I will only eat a french fry if it is really worth it. Lackluster taters from the drive-thru window are not worth my time. Bags of fries do not get a second glance as I maneuver my cart through the grocery store’s freezer aisle. Limp deli fries encroaching on my lunch-hour sandwich? No thanks. But show me a basket piled high with hand-cut, freshly fried, intensely seasoned garlic Parmesan fries and I feel weak in the knees.
