And besides, in a few months we’ll all be missing hearty winter dishes like this classic white bean soup with kale.

Let me confess right off the bat that I enjoy pressing tremendously. Single bells, double bells, I love them both! If I could meet all my goals by working on only one lift, it would more than likely be the kettlebell press. I enjoy coaching the push press and jerk, but there is just something utterly primal and enjoyable about strict pressing a big bell over your head.  (And by “big” I mean half your body weight or more.)

For those of us who suffer from motion sickness, the prospect of driving, flying or even boating is usually one that elicits a sense of fear or trepidation. And a long trip filled with nausea, vomiting and dizziness is definitely not what the doctor ordered. Motion sickness is estimated to affect between 15 and 25 […]

Ladies, we have all experienced the ups and downs associated with our menstrual cycle. Between the cramps and mood swings, we often dream about the days when these symptoms will no longer surface on a monthly basis — but be careful what you wish for. Menopause will follow. For those who have experienced menopause, you […]

There are basic chicken recipes we all keep in our meal plan rotation — and then there are the chicken recipes that make you feel like a dinner genius. These 15 recipes are the latter.

They come together with minimal effort, yet deliver sophisticated flavor and sometimes an unexpected ingredient that makes your midweek meal feel pretty fancy (think: figs and balsamic glazed chicken, Arnold Palmer chicken thighs, or a vibrant coconut curry soup).

Comment of the Week

“If I tell people that I toss my kids holiday candy, it’s seen as some kind of affront to the American tradition. I get the “All things in moderation” lecture. Then I feel guilty for not participating and then run out to find more natural substitutes for all the junk that gets thrown at them, which leads to paleo pancakes, muffins, dark chocolate Easter bunnies and other slippery slope foods that are filled with starches and a month worth of nuts.”

Jennifer L., I remember those days well. Both the kids, I’m happy to say, turned out just fine, despite going without all those chocolate folkloric icons.

Fact: There are several steals at Costco that are so cheap and versatile, it’s almost a shame not to buy them. While I don’t allow myself to buy the 10-pound tub of organic coffee every time I go (I know I’d never drink it all before it turned rancid), there are a few things I always buy. Bonus: They’re all $10 or less, and they help me stick to a healthy diet between trips.

Read about my favorite finds — and how I use them — below.
