There are many versions of tabbouleh out in the world, but I think this could be a new favorite. While the Middle Eastern herb salad is usually made with bulgur wheat, this one is made with al dente orzo, which adds a bit more chew and texture to the dish.

It’s no less bright and refreshing as the original, however, as it’s loaded with fresh parsley and mint and flecked with juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, and fragrant scallions. It’s perfect enjoyed alongside grilled chicken, fish, or steak, but I also wouldn’t hesitate to simply dig into it on its own for lunch or a light dinner.

My favorite way to use Airbnb has nothing to with actually booking trips: I just like to peek into people’s perfectly styled homes and see how people live. You can almost always get a good idea or three just from looking at photos.

Here are seven organizing tricks we learned during a recent trip through some British Airbnbs.

The best pasta salads, in my opinion, are the ones that are loaded with good things — so much so that you get a little something different with every forkful. This one is just that. Cheesy tortellini is tossed with a kitchen sink of favorites inspired by antipasto, the Italian first course that’s full of cured meats, cheese, and pickled vegetables.

Here it’s roasted red peppers, marinated artichokes, salty salami, and spicy pepper Jack cheese, all dressed in a tangy, earthy oregano and red wine vinaigrette.

Happy Friday, friends! How are you spending the long weekend? I’m hanging out in New York and have a slew of things I want to take advantage of — one, of course, is trying to grill or picnic or just do something that involves being outside and eating. Sad news: ABC confirmed yesterday that after seven seasons, The Chew has been canceled.

The Chew was groundbreaking when it debuted seven years ago as a food show that’s also a talk show, but it really worked, thanks in large part to the banter between hosts Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, and Michael Symon. They have an amazing rapport, and the set just looked like so much fun. It was impossible to watch The Chew without thinking, “I want to hang out too!” (Mario Batali was a co-host too, but he was fired in December and is currently the subject of a criminal investigation, according to NBC.)

When I was growing up in Jordan, most things slowed down or were put on pause during Ramadan. The work days got shorter and activities around sunset were shifted to a different time or completely stopped. Restaurants closed during the day and opened at night. Traffic would jam 30 minutes before Iftar, as everyone was trying to make it home in time for the meal.

My family used to gather around the table and my mom always had the best Iftar spread: dates, juice, soup, appetizers, salad, main meal, and dessert. Breaking the fast was the highlight of the day.
