Lots of stores have started throwing sales for the 4th of July. (Nothing says “happy birthday, America!” quite like discounted consumerism!) And while some are definitely more appealing than others, Wayfair has got to be, hands-down, the best sale we’ve seen so far.

Here’s a sampling of what’s on sale now through July 5 — plus some of our favorite finds.

Do you remember the absolute joy you’d feel when your mom would pop open a can of biscuit dough and a package of bite-sized sausages — meaning pigs and a blanket were on the horizon? Our version embraces that exuberance, but we’re upgrading the whole thing.

Thanks to our smart technique, you don’t have to individually wrap 50 tiny sausages to create the perfect bite of flaky, buttery pastry and smoky sausage (but more on that later). These are the easiest pigs in a blanket, and you’re going to be making them all summer long.

Kitchn’s Delicious Links column highlights recipes we’re excited about from the bloggers we love. Follow along every weekday as we post our favorites.

Name something that a portobello mushroom can’t do. You can grill them, bake them, fry them, swap them in for burger patties, throw them into veggie wraps, turn them into mini pizzas — the list goes on. Here at Kitchn, we’ve even gone as far as to call them the “steak of the vegetarian world.”

They’re thick, meaty, absorb any kind of marinade, and perfectly cradle whatever stuffing you choose to fill them with. These ‘shrooms go the distance. And these caprese-stuffed garlic-butter portobello mushrooms from Cafe Delites are surging ahead of the pack.

You know what part of the gym is the most utilized—and the most underappreciated? The floor!

Most gymgoers never think twice about the gym floor. They simply walk around comfortably, glad that the floor offers them a stable surface with good traction for their resistance training, HIIT training, and other workouts.

I’ve been eating right, lifting on a linear progression—trying everything bro.” J then walked away from the bar shoulders slumped over with a grimaced face, begins to strip the bar, and shakes his head.

I found my first few grey hairs the other day. Naturally, my hair is very dark. However, for years, I dyed my hair blonde. All of my “blonde fun” has since grown out and I no longer use any chemical dyes on my hair or scalp — but have I already done damage? Why do […]

In excellent news for anybody who has ever eaten a whole sleeve of Thin Mints in one sitting — so, basically all of us — Trader Joe’s just introduced a new chocolate mint cookie that looks a whole lot like the best Girl Scout cookie.

Chrissy Teigen’s first cookbook, Cravings, took care of practically all of my gift-giving needs for an entire year. Everyone in my life seemed to want it, from very serious cooks to people who don’t cook at all. And even though people might initially have been skeptical of a celebrity cookbook in general and a supermodel’s cookbook in particular, Cravings was an enormous bestseller.

People loved her funny, hyper-casual writing style and her rich, flavorful, often very spicy food. Her recipes really work, too. Now she’s coming out with a sequel in the fall and it looks just as good.

I like to think I’m an unfussy person when it comes to most things kitchen and cooking — until it comes to ice. I have opinions there. If you give me options, I like it crushed. I know it melts quickly, and it really takes up a ton of space in the glass, but I just love the experience of taking a sip of a drink and having a bunch of itty-bitty glaciers to crunch on.

But here’s my dilemma: I live in a house without an ice maker, which means I’ve got to outsource my desire for crushed ice. I skip the grocery store, though (can you even get crushed ice there?) and head straight to Sonic. Yup, Sonic, the fast-food joint, because it sells the ice I dream of by the bagful and it’s only a two bucks a pop.
