Tender, flaky salmon drenched in garlic butter is, hands-down, the best thing to cook on your grill this summer. It’s exactly what you need to break up the tired cycle of burgers, chicken, and hot dogs, and it’s by far the easiest way to serve salmon to a crowd.

Salmon can be intimidating to buy and cook (especially a large side of it), but this smart technique is totally foolproof. That’s right — seasoning salmon with garlic, lemon, and butter and wrapping it tightly in foil guarantees success every single time. Here’s how to make the best garlic butter salmon in foil.

My friend’s wife recently grimaced in pain while we were out to dinner. She seemed very uncomfortable, and when I asked what was wrong, she told me that she had recently started training at a gym, one of the usual suspects in globo gym chans, and that she had hurt her back. I can’t comment on the details of what happened, I wasn’t there, but from what I could figure out based on the story I heard, some personal trainer in the gym had put this woman through a series of exercises and she was now in pain. No matter how you slice it, that’s not good.

My family has pizza night once a week. Some weeks we make pizza from scratch, other weeks we order delivery, and, yes, sometimes we put frozen pizzas into the oven and call it dinner. An excellent side dish or salad (and, let’s be honest, a nice glass of wine) can elevate frozen pizza night just enough to make it feel like a nice meal you planned — rather than one that just saved the day.

Here are 10 easy, veggie-centric side dishes that round out frozen pizza and make it a meal.

If you’re eating a bag of Takis or Hot Cheetos right now, you might want to lick the radioactive-looking dust off your fingers and read this. A 17-year-old in Memphis, Tennessee, recently had her gallbladder removed, and her mom is suggesting that super-spicy chips might’ve been one of the reasons why. “When my daughter had to have this surgery, I knew I had to tell everybody about it,” Rene Craighead told WREG.

This project is a great example of how a few dollars and a few minutes can make a dramatic change in your home — and your mood. As Anne described her situation, “Cooking and baking make me happy, but seeing my workspace sulking in the shadows was putting a damper on my spirit.” Let’s see her cheap, quick, renter-friendly, and reversible solution to the baking blues!

I could wax poetic about my favorite Trader Joe’s finds all day long (currently cannot get enough of the Mixed Nut Butter!), but beyond the snacks, condiments, and cheeses, the freezer section is a gold mine. Trader Joe’s really gets frozen vegetables in a way that most other stores don’t. Sure, you can pick up the standard bag of peas and broccoli florets, but the freezer cases are stocked with even more fun, interesting, and convenient finds you can’t pick up anywhere else.

Here are five favorites that I keep stashed in my freezer for quick sides, simple soups and stir-fries, and dinners when I don’t feel like cooking.

Along with chicken thighs, a pack of ground turkey is one of the staples you will always find in my freezer. Shopping at Target is so ingrained in my family culture that my siblings still laugh at the years — from 1994 to 1999 — that our mom only referred to the big-box store as Tar-jay. My single mom, working two jobs, only bought her household supplies at Target, and I (correctly) assumed it was because they had the best prices.

When I became a mom myself, Target became a weird safe haven where I could “escape” with an iced coffee for some alone time while also grabbing paper towels, diapers, sponges — plus three new nail polishes, cute tabletop items, and a bunch of other stuff I didn’t actually need. I frequented Target for household supplies and I always ended up buying more than I had on my list. Like, way more. (I know I’m not the only one who has this problem. It’s a known trope!)

When I sat down, recently, to give my budget a serious check-up, I realized that the easiest way for me to break my Target spending habits was simple: I just needed to stay out of the store. I was spending so much money on impulse buys, and this was the only way I could actually cut back.

And so here’s my three-step plan for getting the Target goods I need — and none of the stuff I don’t.

Assuming your personal philosophy of life includes stopping at every neighborhood lemonade stand (it does, right?), imagine this scene instead. You’re driving home and see two kids waving handmade signs. You pull over, rummaging for loose change and wondering whether these budding entrepreneurs lean more toward the sugary or watery side of the classic lemonade ratio.

When you walk up, a blonde boy about 7 years old flashes his hopeful blue eyes and says, “Would you like some frozen pickle juice?” You pause, just now noticing the sign in his hand reads P-I-C-K-L-E J-U-I-C-E in carefully glued construction paper letters. “They’re only 25 cents!” his younger brother says. Instead of plastic cups, the bright-green liquid sits in two-ounce servings on the table and the boys smile up at you expectantly.

You smile at their mom behind them, knowing she probably promised they could put today’s profits toward that Thor or Black Panther action figure they saw at the store. Could you refuse?
