Do a quick Google search and you’ll find no shortage of articles that describe protocols that warm up your core temperature and specific patterns of movement. There are more resources than ever before that describe how to warm up to ensure efficient movement during training. You may even find a collection of peer reviews articles I compiled a couple of years back that showed everything I could find pertaining to the research of warming up.

None of us will ever again be #blessed with the opportunity to be intensely-yet-sweetly judged by Mary Berry on The Great British Baking Show (especially since the baking legend is no longer part of the cast). But maybe this latest bit of news will help to ease the sadness that you will never be able to realize that pipe dream: Mary Berry’s former vacation cottage in Salcombe, Devon (in southwest England) is now available for rental bookings.

There’s a reason most of us don’t follow an all- or even mostly-fried-foods diet. Packed with saturated fats and oils, fried foods can raise your blood pressure, cause high cholesterol, and improve your likelihood of heart disease. (Plus, we know that salads and smoothies are good for us!)

But companies know that most of us prefer a French fry or chicken wing over a plate of raw carrots. And so many small appliance brands have been bringing us countless models of air fryers. Instead of using piping-hot oil, air fryers circulate hot air at a high speed, leaving your food with a crispy layer. The result? Delicious, relatively healthier fried food.

Every year I watch this 1987 clip with David Letterman and Julia Child, and this year it feels more relevant than ever. If you haven’t watched it yet — this is the time. Ostensibly the segment has Julia brought on to make a hamburger but she is faced with an equipment malfunction that I deeply suspect was constructed by Letterman to throw her off for laughs.

So she improvises, to devastating effect, keeping Letterman’s sarcasm at bay with a blowtorch and a tangible determination to own every joke. Letterman didn’t stand a chance. How refreshing.

In a perfect world, you’d have a massive kitchen, complete with multiple ovens, a spacious island, and enough cabinet space for every cooking gadget you can imagine. In reality? Your kitchen is the size of a coat closet. I should know: My kitchen is so small, I only have room for a mini-fridge.

We’re not going to sugarcoat it for you: Cooking in a small kitchen is difficult. Not only do you have limited counter space for cutting, peeling, and prepping your meals, you probably don’t have room for large items like food processors and waffle irons.

But just because you’re working in tight quarters doesn’t mean your cooking should suffer. Turns out, lots of stuff that’s currently being marketed for college kids heading back to school can totally be useful in your small space.

Welcome to Snapshot Cooking, the home of Kitchn’s easiest recipes. These mini recipes are so simple you can practically cook from the before-and-after snapshot itself.

Ready for a new chicken dinner winner? Meet the ridiculously easy homemade chicken bite: a saucy little nugget of tender roasted chicken.

You don’t even have to cut up the chicken: Ask the guys behind the counter at your grocery store to chop your chicken into one-inch chunks, then try one of these five (two-ingredient!) flavor ideas. Eat them hot off the pan, top a grain bowl with them, roll them into a wrap, or stuff them into pita.

I asked, “What about it?” She responded, “How do we build it?” A tall task, particularly for one who hasn’t quite solved that problem for himself. It didn’t take long to connect confidence and fitness and after a few more seconds, confidence and life. The question is, where would I start and how far should I go?

As someone who gets home late on weeknights and wants to do a minimal amount of cooking, I’m a big fan of easy, versatile pick-me-ups that instantly add flavor to whatever it is I’m throwing together. In lieu of simmering a sauce for hours or grinding and toasting my own spices, I’d rather turn to a flavorful, savory ingredient or condiment (often Sriracha or miso paste in my house) that can help me whip up a bold and satisfying meal in a matter of mere minutes.

Recently, as I’ve begun playing around with weekend meal prepping, I’ve learned these pick-me-ups can also be homemade — prepped in a big batch and ready to grab on weeknights. This could be a pesto made from the wilting herbs in my fridge, a simple lemon-tahini dressing that’s also great as a dip, or, in this case, a tangy and sweet balsamic glaze that’s seriously good on everything.

Unlike berries, stone fruit, and apples, which hit their peak at specific times of the year, you can pick up a bunch of bananas just about any time and taste the same sweet, creamy bite. The trick is knowing how to pick the best hand (another word for bunch) of bananas from the grocery store, and these five tips will make it a whole lot easier.

If we didn’t know any better, we’d guess that Trader Joe’s just hired a Vice President of Sheet-Themed Products. What the heck are we talking about? Well, last month the grocery chain came out with adorable mini sheet cakes. And now, the brand is launching sheet masks. (If they come out with actual sheet sets soon, we’ll know our theory was right!)

Anyway, back to these sheet masks.
