It’s not hard to guess why the Instant Pot has become the most beloved new appliance in recent memory. Replacing seven popular kitchen devices in one space-friendly option, the Instant Pot does the job of a slow cooker, electric pressure cooker, rice cooker, steamer, yogurt maker, sauté/browning pan, and warming pot.
The Instant Pot sold more than 300,000 units on Amazon Prime Day last year and will undoubtedly sell even more this year. Even with all that unabashed, exponential success, the company behind Instant Pot has decided to diversify its product line with a semi-new gadget called the Gem.

It’s not even Friday, let alone Black Friday, but retailers are already starting to roll out their Black Friday deals. That includes Amazon, who launched early Black Friday deals starting today. The early deals have replaced the normal Amazon daily deals section of the website, which means they’ll also refresh daily, with six spotlight deals that only run for 24 hours.

You might have thought Halloween was over, but this frightening tale says otherwise. In a video posted on Twitter by multiple sources, an unidentified man can be seen doing the unthinkable: sipping soup directly from a public ladle. Like Kate Bernot said on The Takeout, shaming people for doing things that could likely be an innocent mistake is not an internet phenomenon that I particularly enjoy, but this man. His body language seems to indicate that he knows he’s doing something wrong, and doesn’t care. So to heck with decorum, who is this man?

Even if you’re not sure that a picture is worth 1000 words, an emoji always saves you at least a little typing — that’s why billions of emojis crisscross the ether every day. The most delicious ones — pizza, coffee, cherries, hamburger — are also the most popular. But with the addition of six (really seven, more on that in a minute) new food emoji among 158 new emojis total, including the controversial bagel, all our messages just got a little bit tastier.

If you want to cook the hearty, family-friendly meals that Ree Drummond is known for, but don’t have the time or budget to do so, then you’re in for some good news. Walmart just announced that they’re partnering with the Pioneer Woman to create a line of prepared foods, and every single dish is under $7.

Halloween is over, which means it is officially socially acceptable and not weird at all to start unpacking your Christmas lights and inflatable sleigh and reindeer. Okay, maybe that only applies to your Christmas-obsessed neighbors. If you’re not feeling exactly festive yet, Starbucks has some tricks up its sleeve this year that will surely help stoke the Christmas spirit inside us all.

When I learned legendary baker Christina Tosi was releasing a new cookbook, All About Cake, I snagged a copy as soon as I could (it’s out now!). You see, I’m a longtime fan: When I first visited Milk Bar in New York in 2009, my mom and I ordered basically one of everything. On my second visit, I bought my favorite tote bag (a simple blue bag with the classic Momofuku peach), plus a few pork belly baos and a corn cookie, of course.

At my house, and probably yours too, roasted vegetables are a much-loved dinnertime addition any day of the week. They don’t quite require a recipe once you have the basics down, they’re super versatile, and most importantly, roasted vegetables are downright delicious. The best roasted vegetables are golden brown with lightly charred, crispy edges and a tender, just-cooked center. The secret to getting that delicious result every single turn is simply a matter of cranking up the heat. This is the temperature we (almost) always go with and why.

Did you grow up in a home where picking your nose and eating your boogers was strictly forbidden? If you said yes, you are part of the majority. Most of us, as children, were closet booger eaters. From the time we could navigate our fingers, we are compelled to stick them in our mouth, ears, […]
