Most olive oil dispensers are actually not ideal for olive oil storage, as they expose the oil to two of its natural enemies: light and oxygen. Tall glass dispensers (the most iconic ones) allow plenty of both in. And if you’re keeping the olive oil dispenser by the stove, you’re likely exposing it to its third enemy: heat.

If you do want to store olive oil in a more convenient dispenser (instead of the large container you may buy it in) we recommend a ceramic vessel, like this one from World Market, stored away from the stove. That’s not to say a glass dispenser like the one above doesn’t have a place in the kitchen. It certainly does!
