Netflix breakout hit To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before launched the internet’s collective crush on Noah Centineo, but the movie had one more surprising side effect that no one could have predicted: Yakult yogurt enjoyed a spike in sales.
Even if you don’t know the name of the fermented skim milk smoothie — which was created in Japan in the ’30s and made its way to America in 1999 — you’ll almost certainly recognize the packaging. Yakult comes in a squat white plastic bottle, with a red foil top. Only the most keen-eyed viewers will be able to catch the shot of Centineo’s character, Peter Kavinsky, taking a quick sip of Yakult while driving.
