Across every culture, every religion, every language, the issuance of gas from a person#8217;s posterior will #8211; once the wrinkled noses have smoothed out #8211; evoke laughter from just about everyone in earshot. I won#8217;t try to explain why it#8217;s so dang funny, especially when we can turn to Louis C.K. for a title=”LOUIS C.K.: WHY FARTS ARE FUNNY” href=”http://warmingglow.uproxx.com/2011/06/louis-c-k-why-farts-are-funny” target=”_blank”his masterful thesis on the matter/a. C.K arrives at three factors: it comes out of your butt, it smells like poop, and it makes a trumpet noise. Taken separately, these things range from gross to inconsequential. After all, plenty of things sound like trumpets. Trumpets, for one. But together, they form a symphony of comedy that#8217;s greater than the constituent parts./p
pBut when they#8217;re issuing out of your body uncontrollably on a regular basis, farts can be a touchy […]

It’s hard not to end up with a bag of cranberries in your cart when they’re displayed on every corner of the supermarket. But once you get fresh cranberries home, what the heck do you do with them?/p
pa title=”This Antioxidant Powerhouse Is in Season ” href=”http://www.marksdailyapple.com/health-benefits-of-cranberries/”Cranberries/a are a challenging fruit. On one hand, they’re loaded with antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese and are good for urinary tract and gastrointestinal health. On the other hand, the word “tart” is an understatement. But instead of considering this a drawback, think of cranberries as the ultimate palate cleanser. The tangy, tart flavor is a refreshing break when you’re eating heavy holiday food. If you accept cranberries for what they are and […]

I love diet hacks – simple ways to eat less that kind of make you feel like you are cheating the system.
So here is a really simple diet hack for you that works for breakfast. Now, I’m not going to go into the whole Breakfast vs. No Breakfast argument because, well…it’s silly and a waste of time.
Instead I’d like to suggest the following:
BEFORE you have breakfast, or even start planning your breakfast, have a tall glass of water. Don’t ‘pound it back’ – just drink it at a normal speed.
This will give you time to A) figure out if you are actually hungry and B) Figure out If you actually even want to eat breakfast.
It will also make sure you are not confusing thirst for hunger.
This simple hack can save you hundreds of calories over the day, since the one thing that all the breakfast research DOES agree on […]

I just spent the last a title=”The Problems with Antibiotics: They Kill the Good Guys and Make You Fat ” href=”http://www.marksdailyapple.com/the-problems-with-antibiotics-they-kill-the-good-guys-and-make-you-fat/”few posts/a talking about all the bad things that stem from taking too many antibiotics, and you#8217;re likely wondering if there#8217;s anything you can do when an infection comes around. Although I wouldn#8217;t suggest ignoring your doctor#8217;s antibiotic prescriptions for some herb you found on some site online, there are potential alternatives. Not every alternative I list is going to work for you. To be honest, we have yet to confirm many viable alternatives that pack the punch of modern antibiotics. And in many cases, the wallop of conventional pharmaceuticals is exactly what the doctor ordered (in, um, every way). Sure, it could be said that every dose of antibiotics given out is exerting a selection […]

For 23% of those visits ending in antibiotics (which accounted for over 10 million visits in total), they were prescribed for conditions that don#8217;t even respond to antibiotics, like asthma, viral infections, flu, allergies, and bronchitis.
