This past weekend I was putting off all the things I actually have to do: pay bills, do the laundry, and vacuum the rug that is like velcro for dog hair. Instead of being a responsible grown-up, I was flipping through my pile of catalogs (although, perhaps this counts as cleaning?).
In any case, during my “cleaning,” I came across a spread in the West Elm catalog that caught my eye. Then I noticed that the collection was a collaboration with Whole Foods Market and The New Denim Project, a Guatemalan textile group that upcycles denim scraps into clothing, tote bags, sneakers, bedding — and kitchen linens.
Zero waste is definitely an idea I can get behind, plus $1 of the purchase price of every item goes to the Whole Planet Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Whole Foods to help alleviate poverty. Not to mention, this stuff is really cute.
