Why are Mondays so hard? And do they really have to be? We asked five successful women — an actress, an author, a chemist, a philanthropist, and a budding surgeon — to share their secrets on how they make the first day of the week just a little bit easier.
If you’ve ever been on Facebook or just the internet in general, you know there’s a lot of bad information out there. Science topics seem particularly easy to fake. After all, most people are not scientists — but Yvette d’Entremont is, and she wants to clear up a few things with her SciBabe Facebook page.
The site first launched in 2014, but completely blew up after one of her rants went viral last year. She has no fear and no filter. What she does have is knowledge: She has a B.S. in chemistry and an MSc in forensic science with a concentration in biological criminalistics.
She also has a knack for explaining complicated things in a language that’s easy for everyone to understand, even if it’s often pretty salty. Salty is a flavor we love, though, especially in this case. As the SciBabe, Yvette debunks all sorts of science myths about food, wellness, and the environment. Her motto is: “Come for the science, stay for the dirty jokes.”
