I’m new to the idea of intermittent fasting so I’m not sure of all the “rules” but I have been looking at eating only in the morning hours (Buddha says that’s the proper time to take food) and fasting from noon until the following sunrise regularly. This is a practice in line with the 8 Mayahana Precepts and the 8 Uposatha Day precepts of the Theravadin tradition. Monks and nuns are only supposed to eat during the morning hours as well. From my understanding, intermittent fasting typically involves a 5:2 — five days on eating, 2 periods of 24 hours off. Search it on Amazon and you’ll find plenty of books on the subject.
