Losing weight doesn’t have to be hard, and as long as you have a good, practical program on how to lose the weight – chances are that if you stick to it, you’ll meet your goal. In fact, it really doesn’t matter whether you want to lose 10 pounds or 100 pounds! As long as you find the program that is right for you, you’ll be amazed at how quickly your body will respond once you find the right weight loss program!
The problem though is that with so many weight loss programs on the market, finding the best weight loss program for you can be overwhelming.
That’s why we went through the effort of finding 3 different weight loss programs – all the best at what they offer and each one geared towards a different kind of person. Here they are:

The Prize:
This one is just too cool. A fitting prize for today’s brain challenge, it’s called an Isis Puzzle. ThinkGeek, the folks behind the miracle fruit and homo sapiens kitchen tool prizes of yore are now offering up this beautiful, elegant, difficult, titanium, hand-made puzzle sphere to the winner of today’s contest. As a decorative piece, it can smarten up even the pulpiest of bookshelves. As a brain teaser, it will dazzle the minds of everyone in your Sunday afternoon Mensa papercraft parties. But this little ball is also a gateway to adventures most grand. Solving the Isis unlocks a code which leads to more puzzles, keys, and eventually real world treasure. A puzzler’s Everest. Learn a little bit more at Isis Adventures.

The Contest:
Time to Use Your Brain. I’ve devised a series of riddles and puzzles to be solved for today’s contest. The first riddle is below. Generally puzzles become […]

Engage Your Brain

Today’s contest post will be published at 1 p.m. PST. It is a time urgent contest so you’ll have to move quickly. The first contestant to solve every brain teaser is the winner. Check back in a few hours for all the details.
As Tuesday’s post noted, we’re now midway through our 30-day challenge. I hope the second half of your adventure has gotten off on the right foot. What are your thoughts, reflections, questions since the halfway mark? What are you looking forward to in these last couple weeks? Where do you hope the experience will take you by month’s end? As we enter into the second half, two challenge points take center stage – points that call up powers of the mind more than the body. The Primal Blueprint of course garners its foundation from evolutionary principle, but it’s delineated by good, old-fashioned common sense and a modern […]

Eat Stop Eat Expanded Edition is the newly released update of Brad Pilon’s three year old book about intermittent fasting. This is the first and only review you’ll need to read on it.
Right of the bat, let me say that this is a tremendous improvement over the original Eat Stop Eat.
Brad has given me an OK to quote some passages that I found particularly interesting and enlightening for my readers. I’ve also linked to the references provided in the book. These are just snippets. There’s plenty more good stuff in the book.

Fasting and testosterone“After thoroughly reviewing the available research, I found that short term fasting does not negatively affect testosterone levels. More prolonged fasts seem to be associated with slight decreases in Testosterone levels. A 58-hour fast has been noted to cause reduced morning serum Testosterone measurements by the third straight morning of fasting; however, these measurements were still well […]

I’ve been thinking about human health for a long, long time – pretty much my entire life. When I was running marathons and battling injuries and illness, I was missing it, and so I sought it. I figured moving on to triathlons would help, maybe by “spreading the damage” across three disciplines, rather than just the one, but that didn’t do it. And so I started tweaking my eating plan by paying attention to anthropological evidence of the human ancestral diet. Obviously, this worked, and for a while, I felt I’d found the optimal path to human health. Things were good.
But my journey didn’t stop at diet. It wasn’t enough. My physical activity had to change, too: resistance training; sprints; hikes, walks, and other long, easy movements; and a marked de-emphasis on Chronic Cardio.

Then I started thinking about sunlight. I’d always felt better when I had a bit of a […]

Toys! I write and talk a lot about nutrition and exercise, but there’s so much more that goes into health and wellness (stay tuned later today for an article on this topic). One of these is “Play.” So I’m giving away some stuff to play with…
Djubis. Frisbee is fun, but occasionally you need a change-up. Enter the Djubi. My best description of this game would be slingshot lacrosse using the rules of Ultimate. The balls have good zip, heavier than modern-day Nerf fare, they’re more akin to the old school, tough 1980’s Nerf balls that could obliterate a Lego castle if shot from an air canon. A box of these arrived at my office a couple weeks ago and my crew and I wasted no time cracking one open and having some fun. Tip: They’re best used in a large, open space, because they can really fly.
You may want […]
