Homemade Teriyaki Bowl

I had a request for a healthy lunch idea, preferably not a salad, and coincidentally I kept seeing Jack in the Box commercials for their new Teriyaki Bowls. If you’re not familiar with Jack, it’s a fast food joint here in the States, definitely not known for their healthy meals, though their ads are quite funny.

Too bad you can’t eat an ad though it would probably be better for you than these. Packed with more than 1/2 your days worth of salt and 25 grams of sugar, these bowls may look like a healthy option but….well you get the idea. So I started thinking, why not make your own teriyaki bowl for lunch?
This is MY homemade healthy Teriyaki version.

It’s been a big week for obesity researchers et al.
This week we learned that America blows $147 billion a year on medical treatments related to obesity.
And we also learned that the CDC has developed America’s Official Obesity Solution.
And finally, we learned that thinnies hate fatties. And that fatties have lawyers writing books about how obesity isn’t a medical problem and that all of this anti-obesity talk is discrimination.
Oops.
Maybe I shouldn’t have said fatties.
(please don’t sue me…please don’t sue me…please don’t sue me…please don’t sue me…)
.
But before I go and start my long weekend of sun & fun, I have one more uplifting piece of obesity research for you.
.
Rates Of Severe Childhood Obesity Have Tripled
ScienceDaily (July 30, 2009) — Rates of severe childhood obesity have tripled in the last 25 years, putting many children at risk for diabetes and heart disease, according to a report in Academic Pediatrics.

A True Inner Circle

I’ve never understood the concept of a 5,000 member inner circle.
It just doesn’t seem that ‘inner circle’ to me.
I’ve also never understood the concept of inner circles that run for an indefinite amount of time either.
Personally I’ve always preferred the grad-school approach.
A small group of people who are extremely interested in a specific topic.
A set time-line to go over as much information as possible.
And, most importantly…open communication.
This is exactly how I will be setting up the Eat Stop Eat Coaching and Tutorship program.
35 people for a 3 month period. 6 Teleseminars each covering a specific topic which we will discuss as a group. These Teleseminars will not be recorded and sold for a profit, rather they will be available for 48 hours, then they disappear.
Personal Emails and Personal Skype calls.
This is the evolution of Eat Stop Eat.
A true inner circle. A coaching and tutorship program set up the exact same […]

I've been getting a ton of questions about Eat Stop Eat and The Warrior Diet and which is better. I've been using intermittent fasting steadily for 2-3 years (can't remember exactly when I started). I began with The Warrior Diet and it worked to a certain extent, but something didn't quite "feel" right. While I think The Warrior Diet was a groundbreaking book and it was the first book to bring intermittent fasting to the masses, I believe Eat Stop Eat is a more effective and healthy way to drop body fat. In this post, I will give you my experiences with both methods and explain crucial differences between these two ways of eating.

[I was actually searching for a picture of warriors or gladiators, but found this brutal photo instead. When will the violence end? Can't we all just get along!]

Let’s be honest.
We all know what it takes to be in good shape

Exercise daily
Eat healthy, nutritious food
Stay hydrated
Reduce your stress
Get 8 hours of sleep
Quit smoking, Quit McDonalds, Quit drinking gallons of Coke, etc….

And for some lucky people, working out and living a healthy lifestyle come naturally. They Just Do It™

However, for the rest of us, the effort required to “get into shape” takes too much…..effort.

It costs too much
It’s too hard
I don’t know what to do
Fitness people are jerks
People will look at me
People won’t look at me
I’m too fat
I don’t want to get all sweaty
I don’t have enough time
and it’s still too hard

So, we give up, give in and get out of shape.
.
If that sounds like you or someone you care about, read on and find out:

Why we do what we do,

Why we don’t do what we should,
And how you can re-program yourself to actually enjoy exercise.
