A growing number of people attempting to get in shape fast are intrigued by high-intensity interval training, or HIIT. Simply put, HIIT is a cardiorespiratory training technique alternating short bouts of intense anaerobic exercise and brief recovery intervals to maximize the efficiency of a workout. The trick is to push yourself hard enough in a short period of time that you cannot exercise more. A typical HIIT workout lasts from 20 to 30 minutes

Welcome to the first episode of ‘Workout with ME’, hosted by fitness model, and resident writer for muscleandfitness.com, Mehmet Edip. During each episode he will be looking at ways on how to get you bigger, leaner stronger, and faster. For a great majority of those who hit the gym on a daily basis, the goal of getting shredded and jacked all at the same time is a common one. But how do you best accomplish this body building and sculpting goal? One of your best, and safest bets is to go with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) or TABATA Training.Today’s episode looks at how to use cardio to torch fat and get lean while still looking jacked. Not only will it help create the ultimate shredded physique, but it will also reduce the amount of time spent on cardio – freeing you up with more time to hit the weights.

Los Angeles, CA — (SBWIRE) — 12/10/2013 — One fitness trend that exploded in 2013 was various forms of High Intensity Interval Training. While there were several variations of this form of exercise, Tabata training was one of the more popular ones. But as trends come and go, how can a person determine if one style of exercise is right for them, or if they should vary their workouts with other styles? With Tabata training, participants are given a fast-paced and exciting way to tone muscles, improve cardiovascular health, and burn calories during a short allotment of time. This sounds fantastic to anyone pressed for time, but in order to get the most out of the workout, it must be done correctly.Tabata is structured in 4 minute blocks composed of eight 20-second intense bursts of speed or strength exercises, then combined with eight 10-second rest periods

Happy Saturday! This past week I visited San Diego for the first time, and it is a beautiful city! While I was there, I met up with some of our San Diego FitFam, and we had an awesome time talking about body alignment, health, nutrition and fitness – and we got in a great body weight circuit!I post a lot of body weight workouts, and people always ask me if it’s as effective as weight training. I think there’s a perception that body weight workouts aren’t as hard as weight training, or won’t allow you to build muscle and strength. There’s a perception that without going to the gym, or without some complicated program, getting that really shredded body just won’t happen. But that’s just not true – fitness doesn’t have to be complicated.

Most of the time when you think of a workout on the road it involves body weight strength training or some low intensity cardio.  It usually does not match the training goal you have for that time because you do not have the necessary equipment to stay on track.Wouldn’t it be great to have a workout that allows you to hit upper body strength, cardio, and lower body strength using a resistance that would provide a maximal challenge? How about a workout that lets you work on your speed, agility and explosiveness? What about a travel band workout that crushes you metabolically? The following Band Workout will hit any of these 3 depending on how you want to program it.Strength Training using 20-10 x 12 sets – Alternating between 2 or 4 exercisesMetabolic training using 45-15 x 12 sets – Alternating between 2 or 4 exercisesPower Training using 10 – 5 x 6 sets of the same exerciseLet’s make sure you have what you need for your band workout.Time to hit knock out your band workoutFinal thoughts Getting BETTER with BANDS Dave Band Workout Accessories Here
